We’ll explore two exciting techniques to bring your abstract florals to life!

First, you’ll learn how to use an Ink Blower, an easy, beginner-friendly tool, to create stunning, soft gradients that flow across the page to create your first Abstract Floral.  I'll guide you step-by-step in learning how to use your ink blower and understand how to guide alcohol inks to form organic, flower-like shapes. After understanding the techniques, we'll apply them in creating this beautiful, dreamy floral composition.

Learn how to control your heat tool to create beautiful golden edged florals

Second, we’ll turn up the heat (literally!) with a more advanced method using a heat tool to add glowing golden ripples that elevate your florals. After learning how to control your heat tool to create soft fades, golden ripples and vibrant color blends, we'll apply the techniques in this beautiful round floral composition. By the end, you’ll have two unique, vibrant floral pieces you’ll be proud to share with the world!

Create beautiful soft blends and fades

Master how to use an ink blower to create beautiful soft blend and fades to create abstract florals. The ink blower allows for a more soothing and calm process of guiding the inks and using the ink flow to create beautiful organic floral shapes. This is the perfect beginner-friendly tool to create your first Abstract Floral.

Create mesmerizing golden edged florals

You'll learn how to control the inks with your heat tool to achieve the much sought-after golden edged florals. I'll guide you step-by-step in learning how to create these beautiful, soft fades with golden edges and stunning color blends to create a second Abstract Floral composition with a heat tool.

Which tools do you need?

1. Alcohol Inks + isopropyl alcohol

You'll need 3-4 colors of your choice from a good quality brand, a gold alcohol ink for the golden ripples, and isopropyl alcohol 91/99%.

2. Synthetic paper

In this course, it's best to use non-staining synthetic paper like Nara, Kamenskaya, or Grafix Arts Plastics.

3. Manipulation tool: Ink blower & heat tool

Together we will explore two tools: the ink blower and a heat tool. An ink blower is a rubber squeeze bulb that allows you to control the flow of air by squeezing it. My go to is from Ranger Ink.  The heat tool is the back of a hot air brush styler with adjustable heat settings. My go-to is the BaByliss Smooth Boost 668E (300W). Alternatives are provided in the tool guide within the course.  *These are the 3 primary tools needed. The complete Tool Guide is available within the course

Student Alcohol Ink Florals Part 1

I learned way more than I expected to in this intro course! I’ve been working with alcohol inks for about a year. I work mostly in a non-traditional manner on metals and 3D models. This course helped give me some ideas on what types of inks and tools I could use to expand my techniques. And I learned about a few things I had no idea existed! Very happy with what I have learned, and hope to see more courses in different techniques to continue building my ink skills.

Student Intro Course

Not only is Anne a extremely talented artist, but she is also a very good teacher. The compassion she put in her floral courses is unmatched. With lots of love to details she manages to advise you perfectly so you will achieve a beautiful outcome. And with time, practice and patience you will manage to create beautiful artworks of which you can and will be proud. As well as Anne is, as she never fails to celebrate her students achievements. What I would also like to point out furthermore is the (seemingly) endless creativity with which Anne comes up again and again! It is amazing and so much fun to be able to learn from her! If you decide to participate in one of her classes, you will not regret it! At least I never have! :)

Student Alcohol Ink Florals

If you’re new to alcohol ink or wanting to learn new techniques. You will love Anne Roos Art. Anne is an extremely gifted artist but more importantly a gifted instructor!! Being brand new to alcohol ink as well to painting - I was super intimidated until I found Anne’s tutorials and alcohol ink club. Her detailed step by step guidance and opportunity to submit for feedback I was quickly gaining my confidence in art and a relaxing rewarding new passion. I even surprised myself with some of my finished projects. What I loved best besides Anne amazing and funny personality of inspiring instruction - was the ability to stop the video - practice - move forward - or even rewind the video to get a better look at the technique. I could go back and revisit past techniques that I may not have mastered because I was so excited to move to the new flower or project of instruction. Honestly I can’t express how much I love this form of learning. It’s like learning to paint with your friend. 👯‍♀️ Thank you Anne for sharing your passion and gift
